Lydia McGaffee obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Sacramento. She is currently completing her post-doctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente, in the Adult Mental Health General Outpatient, in Roseville, CA. For her doctoral dissertation, Lydia chose to research the psychological protective factors for firefighters, following exposure to critical incidents. Since she has family in the fire service, she is committed to researching and implementing practical strategies for firefighters to be better equipped to manage the psychological stress of the job. In her clinical work, Lydia has experience in providing individual therapy and psychological assessment to assist people in better understanding their internal experience. Aside from psychology and research, Lydia enjoys reading classic literature, running, hiking, and spending time with her very large family.
